Are you a small business?
Tell us about your business:
The health insurance available through Healthy Texas is intended for small businesses: businesses with two to 50 eligible employees who work at least 30 hours a week. A business can have more than 50 workers and still qualify for Healthy Texas if some of its employees are:
- Temporary, seasonal, or substitute
- Already covered by another form of group health insurance
Some other considerations:
- Eligible employees must be U.S. citizens or legal immigrants.
- The owner of a business can count as an eligible employee.
- A husband and wife working in a business count as two separate employees.
- A sole proprietorship is considered a small employer for Healthy Texas if it has at least two eligible employees.
- A single-person business is not eligible for Healthy Texas.
